It's the cyclist who should be prosecuted - not the Audi driver. The cyclist is guilty of initiating the confrontation by his threatening behaviour. The motorist was merely defending himself.
When you are threatened in such an aggressive and frightening way you are entitled to try to ensure that your aggressor cannot harm you by flooring him first.
The problem is also the arrogant cyclists who cycle in the middle of the road instead of keeping out of the way next to the kerb.
When I cycle I always ensure that I am not a nuisance to motorists. If all cyclists adopted this attitude - instead of the aggressive, selfish, arrogant and deliberately annoying one so many seem to prefer - then there wouldn't be such confontations between cyclists and motorists in the first place.
