^This sounds very promising. If I understand it correctly, it relies on the top of the seatpost being stong enough to take the full force of the clamping bit (as in normal use there's little pressure/force on that side/axis), but a nice bit of lateral thinking all the same!
So I understand a bit better - If using a star nut or headset expander, why would the botton of the seatpost need to be cut at an angle??
the bottom of the seatpost with the star nut acts as the wedge. the angled cut will make the seatpost expand in the seat tube when thightened.
exactly like an old fashioned quill stem. -

So far it's all here bar the saddle, ISP topper, and bar tape.
Saddle is going to be a brooks in Brown (groan), though it's apparently due to be delivered today. For bar tape, I'm either getting brooks (which not so keen on), or may take the plunge with some Adarga tape, which isn't perforated (i.e. better IMO) and gets rave reviews - also stupid expensive to purchase and ship from the States tho - plus I know if I do buy it, ship it, wait for it...The damn thing will come up short or something.

An Update
Not sure it works with a matte trim and the brooks Brown. So it either change the matte black bits (forks/stem) or resort to the white saddle/tape combo (tho not sure that works too well if I'm not having (which I can't as it doesn't have the lower nut hole, nor me the dollar) Enve forks)
Had loads of grief as the Headtube wasn't faced (see current projects thread) and the forks are loose - something that may be fixed at Cycle surgery (of all places - kept getting told it was going to be an uber specialist job as its Ti and Oversized) tomorrow (fingers crossed)...

Dude!
Photos of bikes should be drive side.
Looks good tho. I'd lose the brown bits.

Here's the pretty much final build...
Nothing too boundary breaking design/looks wise, still need to add some tasteful light setup to the front and back (will upload properer photos then) and show he trickery of the hot swappable pedals (which is pretty cool MKS superior couplings for the egg beaters and some flats out of shot)
Took it out on the TLC on Sunday, and it rides very nicely (though the ISP reminded me a good few times that perhaps it's not a good idea if the bike is doing this sort of bumpny shit every day...), which nicely sets it up for it's full outing next Saturday at P-R...
I just found this, oh the shame i felt wandering on there....
