It's so strange the British media and general public's attitude to cycling. We struggle so much with anything that in any way disturbs drivers, even at the expense of public health. 1/3 of people here are pressed into helmet wearing, while in The Netherlands for example, almost no one does.
All this is so divorced from both common sense and basic risk assessment.
If so many people are crashing and damaging their skulls (which is not the case), why aren't these so called do-gooders asking why people crash (poor driving) and what we can do to stop them crashing (do something about the people who cause the damage) #helmetweek
