because polo is inclusive, welcomes anyone (well tries to anyway) and we would hate polo in the UK to end up as polo in New York did: a fiercly closed shop of top players that was so intimidating and elitist that now noone plays in the pit anymore cause noone wanted to play/knew about it/saw them as a closed shop
