I saw numerous Italians (...) clearly outside the rules last edition. I think it helps being Italian.

One even on a Viner carbon bike with 9-speed Dura Ace brifters... he finished and got his bottle of wine and everything. A friend of mine got denied his bottle of wine in 2012 for not wearing a correct jersey.

Although most stupid was probably Moreno Moser on his Cannondale 2013 team bike in full lycra team kit.

I got refused the bottle of wine in 2012 for not having a 'retro' enough shirt too. Fark, I was in such need for a beer I couldn't have given a toss!
