I use a Super-Takumar 55mm *f*1.8 with an M42 > EOS adapter with a Canon 1000D.
It's a royal pain in the ass; aperture is non-automatic of course (finder goes dark if you stop down),
plus my lens has literally some screws loose inside, so if you turn the focus ring the aperture gets affected
(darkens the finder as well of course, and also affects metering of course).
This all being said - I love the thing.
No need to say I use it at 1.8 most of the time for thing that hold still.
It's contrasty as fuck, sharp as fuck if you nail it, and bokeh is awesome.
