project winter bike done (bar some new saddle & rear guard minor position tweaking) (bars could probably stand to go down a bit, to aim at rear brake bridge)

Nice drink & frame colour match detail.

best tape IMO... 2.5mm is very comfy and super grippy, even in the wet. wears slowly too...
Fizik soft touch is right up there. And about half the price!

Got (will shortly have) a Columbus Max f&f, but it's 1" threaded.
Not keen on convertors, so I was thinking of having the steerer replaced with a threadless one.
I've been in touch with Ryan at Oak, but it's not something he wants to do (not something he has experience of); I've also contacted Lee Cooper as I read he built someone a pair of Max forks: any other suggestions?

fizik performance 3mm id rate just as good as lizardskin too, and cheaper

Soft touch is quite different (to lizardskins) though, it's not grippy/tacky. It wears a lot quicker than the other fizik tapes.
Arundel tape is very good. And cinelli of course.

I'm sure I remember Dave Yates offering this service on his web pages

Crabon forks? Could work out cheaper too if you get one from the classifieds.

This guy.
Mech hanger was damaged in transit so I've been waiting for a new one from the seller. It arrived a few days ago and I have approximately 3 weeks until I move back to the city (York) to somewhere without ample bike storage, and with no need for a CX bike.
Hopefully I'll actually find time around my current 14 hour work days to get out on it.
Anyone interested in the build/frame when it comes to the sale?
6500 wheels and shifters, mix of other parts.
Looking for £120ish for the frame and forks including postage, not sure about the full build price - I'll have to work it out, but something in the region of £250-275. -

That's lovely Gaston!
I finished my commuter, not as nice as yours, but absolutely loving it.
Beautiful man! Do the frame have space for spiketyres?

Send your forks off to Woodrup, they do steerer extensions for about £20-30. These London builders charge mad dowrah for little jobs.

Thanks: $45 is more like it!

Done.
I clearly don't do good pictures, I'll have to wait until I see spotter again.
I rode it home from the shop with a massive heavy rucksack on and it still felt really nimble and fast. The rear tyre is almost rubbing on the NDS chainstay though, I think the rear stays may be ever so slightly out so I might have to get it cold set. Apart from that and a Flite it's all done, looking forward to commuting on it tomorrow!

and although he'd propably like to do yours for a good price, he's in denmark so shipping might add up. -

Cheers.
It is a bit off but I thought with the silver rear brake, pedals, headset, and the gouges on the shifters where the previous owner crashed them, it wouldn't look too out of place.
Plus it is a daily bike, so if it looks alright that's just a bonus really.
Only one and a half ScobleStairs™ as well.

Anodise it, or even just rattlecan it, if it's that much of a problem.
-
• #87849
And the stem itself does have a picture of a frog on it. If that's not a clincher, I don't know what is.

and although he'd propably like to do yours for a good price, he's in denmark so shipping might add up.As I read about using threaded fork as threadless many said that it wouldn't be safe as threaded part is much more fragile so If doing this would need to remove threaded part I think, but maybe somebody smart with right arguments like ed or tester will put it better or tell me I'm wrong
