Took the train out to Hemel to guide the wife and a friend around the amazeballs TNRC loop.
Said friend abandoned us at half time and I left the wife with another friend - a Hemel Native - on our return to Hemel and I started the ride home on my own.
Was rewarded by a massive soaking as a freak monsoon descended on London around 16:30. At this point I had just joined the Grand Union for the final eight miles or so of the journey, and couldn't be bothered to jacket up. A massive soaking ensued along with a first class view of the accompanying lightening. Given by this point the light was failing and so had my lights (hah! planning!) the whole thing was rather atmospheric and more than a little bit sketch.
Anyhoo 75 or so fixed miles in for the day at a very lazy pace.
However I've had cross races where my bike has arrived home in a better state.
