They are. Well, I like them - I've got two pairs, the Jetlag and the Jetlag Nero. I wouldn't say they're summer only, as I've been using them all year so far. Mind you, my commute is only 6 miles, made up of 4 1.5 mile saunters (1 at each end of the train journey in each direction), so it's not the most challenging testing environment.
The fact that they're only held on by a single Velcro strap does mean your feet tend to move around quite a lot. But it's handy for those panicky 'fuck I'm late' speed getaways in the morning. The prospect of having to tie laces with the H2Os is the only thing which is putting me off using them...
