Had their Dia Compe predecessors in 1981, they didn't stop me then either.....

If you want aero brakes which actually work, you're going to have to shell out a few hundred notes for Magura RT6TT or RT8TT

Found some gooey bluey brake pads in the spares box, so gone matchy matchy as the stock ones were nearly gone.

That cable and brake arm hanging out in the breeze is killing your aeros more than anything you can do with the lever, ask your family for TriRig for your next birthday.
What are the claims for those Omegas? How much will they save?
I think I've asked you this before - do they still work as a brake?Nevermind, I want those black and red Maguras now.. will they fit on the Shiv?
-
• #156
Do you have direct mount brakes on your Shiv? There's a TriRig Omega for that.
Compared with a DuraAce side pull, the Omega reduces your CdA by >0.001m² at all yaw angles, you can plug that number into your simulator to see how much time/power that means for you.
Mine, set up badly (I'm in the process of sorting out a better cable route) is about as good as the Veloce dual-pivot I had on there before. My brakes are shit anyway due to the crappy integrated brake lever on the Ventus Mk.1

Played with the front end and tidied it up a bit, and installed POWER CORDZ™ Swift housing. A Centaur BB means chainline is now correct. Steerer needs to be chopped, but I'll wait until I have access to a proper cutting guide to do that.
Further additions, in order of likely occurrence:
- 90/100mm -17° stem
- Raltec disc covers
- New Keos, either new Blades or Max
- Black Adamo (maybe sooner, depends if I can get the blue one comfy)
- TriRig Omega
- Nicer base bar, maybe a Zipp Vuka
Oh, and some training. First open will probably be the BUCS 25 in April.
- 90/100mm -17° stem

I'm guessing that there's not much that can be done in terms of stem aerodynamics without a massive budget? There's the Oval topcap, but I think they're discontinued.

When in April is the BUCS 25 and where? I might throw the bike on the turbo and do some intervals if it's somewhere convenient :-)
**Edit - Ah - near Cambridge (e33/25) on the 27th... Yesterday I was complaining to the GF that I wasn't enjoying not training, so I think this might be a bit of fun.

26th, hosted by OUCC on the H25/17

• #161
powercordz any good?
-
• #162
Haven't ridden them yet, but they look good. Very satisfying to install.
-
• #163
Hang on... I must have found the wrong site.
OUCC is my club and the H25/17 runs a few km from my parents house. It would be rude not to!

• #164
Get the Keo Blade 2, they look the most aero of the bunch.
H25/17 will be fine on fixed, although 2yrs ago at BUCS it was quite the tailwind home. The E33/25 would be grim in contrast

Yeah I've ridden the H10/17r fixed and found it fine. How does it compare to the H25/8?
-
• #166
Pretty similar although you get a ramp start and there's a bit of a drag out of the turn

BUCS 25 is right by my parents. Would love to come.
Same day as Rutland Cycle Classic though. Busy getting my arse kicked.

• #169
Nice course too. Cambridge CC do some evening 25s on there.

Dinky little Lezyne Femto for the front (blue was cheapest, not intentionally matchy)

Black Adamo time trial and vanity decal
-
• #172
Did the blue one go to Sainsbury's Ed? If not I'd be keen to try it.
-
• #173
Yeah, just about to post it I'm afraid. Dibs it off him for when/if he upgrades.
-
• #174
No worries. I'll send him a message but it's probably for the best... I have the same mis-matched blue problem as you do.

Oh, also, do you mind me asking where you got the bars/clips/extensions from? Did you get them all together? The places I've searched all seem to have one component but not all 3. I guess I could order separately but I was being lazy.
I think I'm after the same set up as you (Vuka Alumina base bars, Vuka Alumina top clips, and S bend extensions (probably aluminium if I can find them).
