I'd say use whatever you're used to.
I'll be somewhere around 71GI depending on what I bring, 48/17 is a tad bigger than I'd choose to ride on this but it's whatever works for you really.

Did some hill repeats of shooters hill on saturday on the tandem for training, and have concluded that we are going to die on ditchling. It would be nothing short of a miracle if we do manage to haul it up without walking.
Regardless, I am thoroughly excited :)

You, of all people, know that there is only one ratio for a ride to Brighton with excessive bling, and a shortage of inner tubes...

Pretty sure I've a 19t knocking around in the tool box. I was tempted to stick on the H+ back wheel so I've a 19/17t on flip flop but if the weather is kind I'll be bringing out a 1961 Mercian it'd just be wrong (for me at least)

I live in Brighton so will prob be a bit hungover and be waking up right as you all arrive into town. Would be great to chat to people though and learn more about the ride before I make the plunge. Brakeless at the moment with a 109GI has taught me to be VERY cautious -___-;

Assuming I do make it (I should do) yes, standard practice is meet at Angel > Roseberry Ave > Farringdon Road and on I think. Do we need a feeder list?

I'm only here for the lists, to be honest the riding is starting to tire me out.
Depart 8:15 from Angel tube?

and I thought my gearing was too high...

109 gi? Wtf?
-
• #172
He must either be confused, lying, or absolutely insane. If that is indeed your gear, then please stay away from me!
-
• #173
Although to be fair, the collective weight of our tandem is about 160kg so you would probably just bounce right of us

76 Gi way forwards! sensible skidderr

49/17 for me. Seems to work well for me on this route. Bit of an effort up Bitchling but what isn't.
109GI. What's that 58/14? No business outside of a track on that. IMHO.
That sucks Seraph but good reasonto miss out.
Going to dust down the Mercian for the ride. Current forecast looks OK but cold.
What is the most popular gearing on this? Was planning 48 with 17t
