Well it's more disposable than a grand which is what both my other bikes would cost to replace.
I would be completely gutted if my Cinelli or Brompton were stolen. The appeal of an entry-level Trek with Shimano and Bontrager kit is that I probably wouldn't give a too much of a fuck about any of it, but it would also probably be quite a good bike, so I wouldn't have to put up with riding something heavy and uncomfortable. Trouble is I know nothing about modern gears and less about Shimano.
