Unbelievable! I buy a bike, find a thread absolutely trashing the brand and because I quite like the bike I've spent money on make a few entirely reasonable observations of the quality I'm getting for my money and suddeny I just must be in cahoots with foffa! Incredible!!

You said yourself that you thought people might question your authenticity.Did you buy a foffa before reading this thread or after? Honest question.

Ok, you're right- not unbelievable or incredible but as a newbie on the forum it's not the most welcoming response... The tone of the thread prepared me for it. That I was prepared for it doesn't make it right however.
You know what I would be happy to speak on the phone to someone from the suspicious clan and answer any questions you may have. Just one of you. I'm not Danni foffa and my investment in this whole thing is not the same as a man trying to defend his business and livelihood.
Actually, you know what, the fact that Danni has not gone down the road of fake profiles bigging up foffa in the years this thread has been running is something of testament to his character. I'm sure it has occurred to him.
I bought the foffa (or rather put the deposit down)- I'm waiting for the next window for the cycle to work scheme to start in feb before paying the balance, before reading this thread. I must admit to initially thinking shit what have I done. The level of vitriol expressed by some people (not all) has however gradually sided me with foffa. The bikes are not, as far as I can tell rubbish and they're still going strong so some people must like them. He's actually conceded the price point issue and is making efforts to bring down his costs (closing his shop) so he can be more competitive.

I don't like the neon 2. Bought it because it was basically bran new at 170 which seemed like a deal on a 450 ish rrp bike. Hate the disc brakes though and the ride position isn't too comfortable. It also doesn't look very stylish. I'll be selling (and hopefully at least getting my money back) as soon as my other bikes come through.
Imight get a third though! Will be a proper cheapy (100 quid or so)- pub bike :)

Peter V, thanks for the advice about the classifieds- I'll have look. Unfortunately I don't have a great deal of knowledge and wouldn't know if a second hand bike was good value or not! Anybody come across any good dealsin the classifieds to suit 6ft 1, fast, lightweight, few gears (ideally just 6-8), not too showy but still stylish. I had a 1980's bianchi racer when I was a teenager. Ex just gave it away rrrgh! Would love something similar again! 5-700 squid mark. Also any advice on which brands are a good bet?
