  • In fact, there's nearly twice as much protein in a bowl of porridge than in the same size serving of most muesli brands. Yes, nuts have protein but even more fat. Nuts are one of the most calorie dense foods around, so the manufacturers don't put enough in for it to make a serious difference.

    Nuts in general (and peanuts in particular) are great for powerlifters, bodybuilders and such. Needs a little caution if you're trying to lose weight, otoh. Even when I'm trying to put on weight (i.e. muscle), I value nuts more for the minerals and energy than the protein content.
