You will get more than 20 kms unless you are going really slowly. The specs say it will run 6 hours on the low constant setting (50 lumens). I charged it overnight, ran it on the commute (on 50 lumen constant setting) and the charge indicator went from green to red in less than two hours of use. I recharged rather than see how long it would burn before going flat (silly me), and I haven't had it long enough to know what run times to dead flat are like IRL. Also, I don't think there is access to the battery to put a fresh second unit in.
I bought this as a cheap alternative to a Hope Vision 1 I have on a second bike (rather than swap the mount for different size bars). The Hope will do more than a week of commuting for me on one charge of 4 rechargeable AA batteries. I would go that route if your budget goes that far. (I bought mine for 50 quid a few years ago. I didn't realize until I looked now how pricey they had become).
