First club "interval" session of the year, not sure what the coach has been smoking over Christmas, but the rests between intervals were burpees, and the intervals were up and down the same hill...
was up at 5am this morning, in the office by 7am, left about 7.40pm. finally got out for my run at 9pm, ran round the little loop I planned out in the nearby industrial estate, but turns out there's about 10 caravans parked up on that road with people living in them, was expecting to be shouted at for going past repeatedly slapping my feet like an excited seal but thankfully I only saw one occupant stretching his legs.
Intervals were 12x 400m with 400m recovery @ 7:20 min/mile. struggled on one or two for a few seconds and the pace dropped so i had to dig in to get it back up again but managed to stick to it pretty well overall and pulled a 6:00 min/mile 400m for the last one.
cooldown jog was an absolute crawl back home, watch told me I finished my cooldown about 80 yards from the end of my road and I pretty much staggered the rest like some drunken idiot.
Feels so good to be going out and pushing myself again, the last few weeks of slow runs have been good but you just dont get that runners high you get after going out and just going for it.
rounded out my 6th consecutive day of training perfectly, don't think I could have run another mile tbh. will gladly take tomorrow as a well earned rest day now.
oh and also finished this months strava 100km prove it challenge which was nice :)
