My barefoot running technique is based purely around a fear of my knees exploding. I land mostly on the balls of my feet, and push off with less of a foot roll. My cadense increased for a given speed as a result of this.
But I'm of the mind that, unless I feel a problem, and so long as I'm dealing with the impact part, I'll just let my legs decide.
