Riding fixed with roadies is fun. I went out on my clubs bun run yesterday on a track bike, did 45 miles including and a few very steep climbs and descents. They enjoyed watching me suffer, I enjoyed getting to the top of every climb first.
However saying that there is no point in a geared bike is very stupid. If i had any interest in road or circuit racing then I would buy one in an instant. Or if i intended to ride across Europe or the alps. The fixed gear has its place, as does the road bike, whether you feel that a road bikes suits your own needs is another matter.
