Never really considered gait offroad. Just need the right amount of grip vs smoothness, and the right amount of cushioning vs trail feel, for you use.
I like the roclites as there are a lot of rocks on my trails so a bit of cushioning is nice. Plus you can do a lot of tarmac km's on them without getting beaten up. My O-rocs are uber aggressive. So I only use them for mud/snow.
