    Bike polo is a ludicrous activity, a construct of caucasian boredom, disposable income, and a certain existential uncertainty that comes with the transition from youth to adulthood. It is a liminal state between adolescence and domesticity, between self-service and responsibility, incompatible with meaningful maturity and a satisfying familial life. When it is seen as such, under the harsh honesty of florescent light, it is an incredible thing in which to participate. When this sense of transience is lost, or is ignored under the auspices of humorless competition, it becomes an ugly thing to watch, cringe worthy, like a Larry David moment in slow motion.
