Got a carbon frame with Aluminium lugs (LOOK KG231). The seat tube diameter should be 25.0 but measures 25.1 at the top of the tube.
When inserting a 25.0 post there is a visible gap. Would a Nitto shim or the brass suggested below as suitable for bars be suitbale for a post?
The tube 'feels' loose the whole way down. Ifff the diameter is 25.1 the whole way down, not just at the lip, then would there be any issues shimming at top only? With carbon tubing? Surely it is not likely to be 25.1 the whole way down...?
Or just buy a proper shim.
Also bodged shim depends a lot on what bars you have, drops or horns, real bad idea...
Or just buy a Nitto shim if bike shops are closer to your house than engineering shops.
+1
coke can always starts to move after a while for me.
Buy some 0.3mm (12 thou.) shim stock, brass or nickel plated steel work equally well, you can cut either with stout scissors.
