Potentially in for first forum ride , is brakelss ok for this ? and 80gi too high?
As above, only you can answer this question, but I would probably go further than Bernie and say no. (Obviously its up to YAL as its his ride). The weather is likely to be shit, and the only other long ride I've done with brakeless people, was in the spring, with much better conditions.
The first decent hill we came to one flipped over his bars going into a ditch, and the other guy slid out and down the road for a couple of meters. Further-more, due to being on a track-gearing he got the train back after half the distance because he was seriously slowing the whole ride. The first guy had to rotate his drops upside down because of how much his back hurt.
I have no idea about your ability, and this isn't in anyway a judgment, more just a statement of fact that it is not the ride for 80gi brakeless
