They close plenty of the motorways often enough - just do truck and rider up in high viz + fags and they'll blend right in.

Fantastic viewing. Hats off to Guy Martin and all the team. More bottle than a Coca Cola factory. Stunning bike build by Jason too. Love Rourke frames!
Thanks!
Just saw this. Amazing. In true geek style preferred to computer models and frame building bits to the actual attempt though... Thanks for the photos/infos Mr Rourke. Tell me, was that bit Guy welded actually on the final frame?
Would be astounded to see what speeds are achievable with the best rider, longer/flatter/harder surface and so on. Presumably just shaving all that hair would have got it up to 115!
Was only truck and sand slowing Guy down, Guy is very strong he could do much faster so could the bike ;)
Yes he did a little on BB's not whole welds tho, he's never tigged, was very good for first attempt.A shame we don't have testing facilities like germany. I'm sure with enough persuasion we could get a straight road closed for a few hours.
Yes we did investigate Germany.

Just loved the programme, and made me even more pleased to own a Rourke 853 SS/Fixie. I run a slightly smaller gear though ;-)

How about a Guy Martin signature Rourke frame? With a percentage going to spinal injuries charity that Guy is involved in.
Awesome achievement by all involved, Guy is a proper inspiration to get out and enjoy life.

and the rourke in his van is the land speed jobby
No it wasn't. It had flat bars, wasn't white, didn't have the double-reduction gearing, had rim brakes, didn't have the tow release at the front. In fact, other than the Rourke head badge it may as well have been a jar of pickles it was so different. :P

That was mad. He needs to go again to get into Guinness Records though which sucks a bit.

This is his latest one Built by VOX.... the other is a build he's doing himself AFAIK.

Did you consider asking Heathrow if you could use one of their runways at night when it's quiet? Over 4km of tarmac, much longer than Bruntingthorpe (or any other runway in the UK).

When Heathrow is 'quiet'? LOLage

When they finally start taxing aeroplane fuel? #hereshoping
