I saw La Grande Belleza (The Great Beauty) last week. It was strange, pretentious, atmospheric, and quite long, but one of the most beautiful and captivating films I've ever seen. Still not really sure what happened in some of it, and I'm not sure I understand it. But I'd watch it again tonight if I could. Good soundtrack too.
Saw this last night, agree with the above. It perfectly captured that uneasy sense of unfulfillment that can sometimes accompany life, it had a real dry darkness below the surface I thought and the constant shots of an almost deserted Rome reflected that nicely.
