True but it's the main reason I don't use my eos M anymore.
Ideally I'd like to find a digital compact that has an optical finder and relatively fast prime lens but short of shoving a digital sensor in a broken gr1 I doubt I'll be able to .
Good luck. Viewfinders are generally being phased out in favour of live view. The more compact a camera gets, the less space there is for a viable viewfinder. Sure, some will have it, but it will be no more than a gimmick.
The X100 was great, but frankly, despite all the glory showered upon it, I found the viewfinder to be far too cluttered and too much of a distraction, taking people away from taking a picture and into technological wankery.
Pick what you need. What do you really need out of a camera? There is no such thing as a do it all machine, or we'd all be using it.
