Other half has a 80s Raleigh Clubman. It's nice but has steel rims and the brakes are shit, it's a death trap in the wet. I know we can replace the pads with kool stop salmons, but that will only do so much as the centre pull brakes are so ineffective and they're a pig to adjust, although I can just about do it.
Can I replace these with normal road brakes? It's got 27" wheels, would brakes designed for 700c work with 27" wheels?
