  • i know which i'd rather have(coming from the guy with a gazzetta expected to arrive tomoz).

  • definitely a looker but just remembered, quite slack built up:

  • meh...

    shame

  • meh...

    shame

    This.

  • Yeah, that goldsprint would be beauty with nicer angles. That's the issue with most cheaper frames - they are slack. Then there is Goldsprint Ronin - tight, but ugly welds.
Probably won't pull the trigger for new frame until I will get all parts together, maybe something nice appears in classifieds.

  • Really raw or clear-coated?

  • I think that goldsprint is clearcoted.
Search Goldsprint on the forum and there will be CP with flammed version of that frame.

  • The 58cm and above has a 73 degree head tube angle which is quite steep.
I think the fork has too much rake making it look slack.
Slap a woundup on there and you got yourself a mean looking bike imo. I deffo would slap 25c tyres on there aswell.

Build above is quite shite to be honest.

  • 73 degree is not steep.

  • all city big block ticks those boxes

  • 73 degree is not steep.

    I said quite...

  • still needs to get fit right, but dug out and cleaned up these lever hoods, thnk i prefer over gum
last a regina silver chain, then done

  • Dat goldsprint. Rad!

  • Though the big block is dirt cheap.

  • Only took 42 days to arrive, but I got a Peugeot finally -

That's not an instragram filter, just a very very shitty camera..

The good -stem and seatpost all move freely, clipless pedals were easily removed too, looks like the cranks have been retapped to 9/16x20. Ace.

On the ebay ad I was told the size was 59x58, the ad on the site here it said it was 58x57, the reality (and better yet for me) is that it's 60x59 and fits quite nicely.

The not-so-good - french threaded BB, while not a total surprise and I can work with it, at the time this bike was built Peugeot were putting out their commercial bikes with British threading so I was hoping it could be the case here. Oh well.

The build - undecided really, it's quite nice as it is to be honest but I think the paleish blue could work well with a smattering of black components, I've a black bar and stem that need a home, black caged track pedals too, possibly black rims and gumwalls.. All something to think about anyway.

But I'll certainly change the saddle as I've already have one bike with a Regal and while it's alright I think this bike would do with something a little more late-80s/early-90s. Also could do with a larger chainring (46 => 48) and a nicer seatpost.

  • That's a pretty classy build as is. Really nice.
How much did you get it for?

  • Lovely. Not sure it needs black parts.

    What year is it?

  • Pretty decent price really, 382eur / £317 . Mix of parts - Campagnolo / Stronglight / Mavic / ITM.

Unsure at the mo if the rear hub is an actual Mavic 520 (piste) or just a 501 (route) with an axle change - they 520 rear doesnt (usually?) have a logo on as this one does. Will have a gentle go at the lockring tonight to see which way it turns and find out just what's under there...

  • Good on you Tychom! That looks ace. Would change the saddle to something more nineties though and just let it be.

    As I said in the salesthread, it's not a 520 but a 501 with another axle. ;)
