Issue with the Noodle, which you can see upthread, is that you could rotate the bars up and move the levers to get a flat transition, but that put the flat of the drop in a silly place, and the levers were not really in a good place anymore either- plus the reach started getting really, really long.
Basically, it is not what the bar is designed for, hence ordering the M106.
I would prefer to keep the Noodle's- I bought them on aesthetic grounds, and I think they suit the '98 frame better, but this is a bike to be ridden rather than admired (hence 6800), so compact drops it is.
