Another fail. I don't know why they can't make it more fun, like the ride to 6 different pubs between Christmas and New Year challenge. I'd be good at that.
It's no fail, the real aim here is surely to people cycling more than they usually would over xmas rather than getting fat,
if you did that > great success

Congrats to those who have completed/will complete tomorrow - I'm completing my 500minutes challenge tomorrow. [Injury led to a rehab-version of the Festive500].

I just did 112km, but my Garmin (910XT) is stuck in the upload, keeps cycling through from 0-95%, then goes back to 0 again.
I'm guessing that's my Festive 500 over.

49 miles left! Will just say fuck it to the weather tomorrow morning and get it over and done with, rather than waiting for it to clear up like I did today.

No mount on the Serotta, simple as that.

maybe step outside, record a brief activity and shut it down, then retry uploading?

Wahoo key and iPhone worked where Suunto ANT+ USB and laptop failed.
EDIT 61km to go on the bike, 5k running.
Anyone else do both?

Cest fin! This morning was awful, the weather was definitely against me as I was getting to my friends, struggling to average 10mph against the headwinds. Myself & said friend finally set off, 10mins in & we were in hysterics…battered by wind & horizontal rain. Stopping at the penny farthing cafe in Knutsford for a double helping of cake & copious amounts of tea. Soon after setting off we were pootling along country lanes chatting in the sunshine, finding the long way back & completing the challenge…phew! To celebrate we had pie & pints, laughing at how grubby, disgusting & happy we were (& the joy of beating all the boys in the process. i.e... we are the only ones to have finished at the present time)…ahhhh bliss.

Chapeau to the 500ers (and those almost there). Plenty of proper weather to contend with.
Me? I have a fine set of bruises to show for it and no roundel.

I rode this around my parents house in North Wales, ended up 3000ft short of a combined festive 500 and December Rapha Rising double.
Highlights -
Riding to Rhyl on Christmas Day - Heady Scenes! Think I saw a fist fight.
Boxing Day was hard work decided to hit some climbs from the Simon Warner book, fell off at the top of Moel Arthur and 'the road to hell' was a real fucking fight. Both climbs worth a visit though.
http://www.strava.com/activities/102000917The best ride was the day before yesterday, the 8 mile downhill through the denbigh moors is sweet and the road surface probably the best I have ridden in the u.k.
http://www.strava.com/activities/102626408Biggest Bummer - I descend like a wiggo, need a new rear break block. On the bright side, no flats!
Will probably start a North Wales riding thread in 2014 with some of these routes.

Insert Ben Stiller 'Do it' gif here.
8 mile descents? Yes please. I occassionally visit that part of the world and would appreciate any routes round there, I shall seek that one out.

Fucking DONE.
Of course I timed it so the final ride was with downpour and windy mess.
300W to do 19kph on the flat ftw. Now to get over this cold and get pished.
No flooding at all :)
