Shimano seem to have made it their mission to make ugly drive side cranks for a few years now, and they are only getting worse
If I could have found an FC-2200 in 165mm, I'd have taken them over any current Shimano crankset on aesthetic grounds. The 2300 is hideous, and yet they seem to have topped it with the 2400. I'd also have taken the 5600 over the 5700, but they all seemed to be gone. Doubtless 5800 will get the 4-arm treatment seen on 6800 and 9000, making the 5700 look like an elegant classic in comparison.
