Here's an interesting little piece from my collection.
I know very little about it. I know that it was a gift from a Royal Artillery soldier to his Irish wife after he returned from WW1. He was also a Boer War veteran and I also have his war medals and service record from both conflicts.
Other than that, I know nothing about the watch. I think the movement was sadly replaced sometime in the 1950s but despite this I just love the craftsmanship on the face and reverse. The winding holes are even elaborated. The case is solid silver with gold highlights on the dial.
I can't make head nor tail from the hallmarks. No idea where it was made or who by. I just wish the original movement was still there.
