  • Guinness and Stella, lab and cocker, both (allegedly) working.

Guinness is contemplating how best to please me, Stella is contemplating how best to bite Guinness.

  • lovely pooches Col, are you working them?

  • Yep, I pick up with Guin and Stella is in her first year of bramble rummaging. Guin is my 4th generation of labs and (hopefully) will be a dad this Spring. Watch this space.....

Meanwhile, back to the cooking for my rapacious horde of a family!

  • We have chickens
    Sablepoots

  • nice one Col, lovely to see working dogs working

Harper the working cocker and Monty the russett lab

Monty's been on a few shoots and Harper is pretty well trained but hasn't quite got the control to be on a shoot yet

  • Awesome photos and cool dog.

Meet sophie, my mini bull terrier, 14 weeks old

  • Maki is now 13yrs old (griffon/terrier)

  • ^so cute

  • Higg's can't walk properly, I don't know what is wrong with her.

  • Christmas cheer?

  • Higg's can't walk properly, I don't know what is wrong with her.
Is she displaying other symptoms or trying to lick out an injury?

  • Soft tissue damage according to the out-of-hours vet we took her too.

He dosed her up with painkillers and she's much more her old self.

We just need to keep her inside for the next 4-5 days.

  • Poor thing :( Heal up fast Higgs!

Do you think it was a result of fighting?

  • No idea

  • ^ Just seen this on your Flickr page, Will - fantastic. Looks a bit like a wild horse!

I did what Dammit did the other day - somewhat predictably my fur balls are chilling out together, hugging in fact...

  • ^ Please ignore my socks, wires, and the badly chipping wall :/

  • I have "retired" those, as the cats just sit in them and ignore you- they now come and sit on your lap.

  • Might get one for the coon, as she's not a lap cat.

So you do sit down occasionally. Amazing!

  • Got told yesterday that Rudy probably has <6months left, neurodegenerative wasting of lower legs. Plus vets found a lump on his balls (apparently painful- unconvinced of the need myself for the surgery given the short prognosis) so the poor pup has to spend his last days emasculated... He's in a fair bit of pain today, hoping that he'll get better quick. It's painful to see him struggle to walk, he used to be incredibly powerful, and I fear the next few months of deterioration will be difficult to deal with.
Going to spoil him rotten, of course.
    Poor pup.

  • Sympathy and hugs in spades. I'm down one dog a short while ago and the other (Chilli) is losing it now too. Reckon only a few weeks to go.

  • Winston the Weimaraner...
