  • I'm back home in Newcastle at the moment and i just saw a headline in the local paper in which Pardew calls for fans to be 'wary of european spaces'. I understand the logic as we almost got relegated last season as a direct result of playing too many games.

However, I went to the away games in Brugge and Bordeaux (how un-plastic of me!) last season and had an absolutely sick time. For a club like Newcastle, or say, Swansea this year, the europa league is a great addition to a season. I don't understand why this dialogue of 'we don't need the extra games' is slipping into the sport...

    Dis ^

Went to a few UEFA Cup games home and away back in '08/09

All crackin trips an met some top lads that I still see at games now and have a drink with

I can totally understand the extra games creating fatigue, injuries and a possible distraction from the league but that's part n parcel.
