Ahhhh wish is seen ur post before putting mine up. My scratch post looks midget compared to yours. I initially did try a bit of DIY. Got a piece of 3x3 and sisal rope off eBay and got gluing and wrapping then attempted to glue it to the top of the existing post. It did stay on for a while but she wouldn't use it possibly because of the glue smell/residue.
