  • Skid marked?

  • Does anyone know if Rapha has now withdrawn their nice 'refer a friend' offer?

  • It was discriminatory.

  • And hub bearings and and may as well buy a new bike... #doingitrite?

Don't think so... Was advertised in the newsletter I received last Friday

Thankfully not me :-) but this is at the top of Polehill in Kent, the 'hotel7diner' is where the TNRC had brekkie after one of the overnight rides a couple of seasons back.

Explains a thing (wheel) or two.

  • Can you swap sizes bought online in the rapha shop off Oxford street?

  • ^ what he said?
    :0)
You'd think my lovely wife would have checked the other stuff for sizing......not a complaint though! ( old gold hard shell and a crisp white shirt.....boast post)

  • T-V: I have done, but I called and asked the shop before ordering online (shop had stock of the size I needed, online did not).

  • I've even swapped colours of things they didn't have online - they're very accommodating.

  • I like their gear. I do. I've done the research, it's made well and can command a higher price but not 3-4 times more than other good, italian brands. I'd buy the accessories. A hat; some socks. £200 for shorts? That's a deposit on a brand new steel frame, which will last a lifetime; however, depending on how miles you're putting in, shorts will only last a season or two at best.

I think they do a good job at catering for their target market: cash rich lawyers, accountants and middle management types.

    Welcome to the forum

  • It is rarely weather for leg warmers but at the moment it is.

  • He forgot dentists

  • My dentist is into Wagner and Bayreuth. The hygienist cycles, but not in Rapha.

  • Koolhuntr I don't think that's fair. Spending a premium on something like bibs is totally worth it if it means cycling in comfort for longer. I went back to DHB Aeron Pro bibs this morning, having worn Rapha pro team bibs exclusively for the last two months. The difference is like day and night. The premium is worth it to a lot of people.

    Oh you dentist.

  • Guilty as charged.

  • ^^^ agree.

Funny because I'd say as nice as the* excessories are, they don't represent great VFM IMO. My M&S merino socks work great. I'm happy to be proved wrong, but not really sure Rapha ones are x3 better. Likewise my snood is nowhere near as nice as my Rapha neck warmer, but for cycling I'm not sure it's x4 better. Bibs on the other hand I really do think are better than cheaper ones (assuming the sizing works for you).

*for snowboarding where I'd have my face covered more often than just my neck I'd say it is definitely worth it.
