Designated driver tonight so may see if I can get going on this tomorrow. Nearly all rides will have to be in the dark before family wakes.......... doomed to failure.

I'm in Wales for the next 10 days; forecast is single digit +/- temperatures and 40mph wind. Should be fun when combined with 000's of meters of climbing!

Oh and floods on all the flat bits. Yay

I pulled up, parked, opened the door- and almost lost it..

Then turned car around, parked nose into the wind, great success.

My dad offered to drive me to Blackpool at 20mph* for the entire way on Christmas day so I don't have to cycle, he seems to thinks I'm a bit crazy for having to cycle for the festive500...

*it would probably give me my best average speed though

Pretty awful weather for it, isn't it? Going to try and get 20 or 30 miles in each day for the next three days (family, work getting in the way) then do the big rides starting on he 27th. Should be very achievable so long as I make sure I get out of bed on time!

Looking forward to getting stuck in to this tomorrow morning, hoe the weather ain't too bad

hoping for 105km today, yesterdays wind made for interesting moments, so this could be tough.

Other half woke me at 4.30am so managed 70m. A LOT of standing water but Northwaves and guards kept feet and rest toasty and dry. About 8 trees to be negotiated. Great to hop over while cars have to 3 point and turn back :)
