I had a productive day today after a day of total fail yesterday, in spite of the ridiculous conditions outside which seem to be embodying a somewhat restless Christmas spirit.
I got to Alchemy Coffee (near St. Paul's) just in the nick of time - in fact I was their last customer of the yea,r so the lovely manager Paul gave me three bags full of
woolamazing espresso beans for a really silly price. Should last a week or so ;)I also saw two old friends, did a special delivery of a VIPackage destined for Dubai, finished buying the family presents, making all my edible gifts and doing the prep for Christmas dinner - Florentines, truffles, Viennese shortbread, bread sauce, ice-cream, cranberry sauce, rum sauce, choc fondant pudding, 3 different stuffings, red cabbage/apple in port, and spiced nuts. Praise be for freezers. Nearly started peeling the veg but managed to restrain myself.
Got the MacBooked in to Genius Bar for Saturday - hoping my Xmas miracle will be it sparking back to life between now and then though.
OMG far tl;dr - Xmas almost sorted.
