Right I'm joining this thread albeit temporarily. We live in a Maisonette in Leyton with a little garden. Three days ago I noticed a little kitteny thing in the garden and when it simply didn't fek off I went down for a chat. She (for it is a she) dashed through a broken air vent into a crawl space under the house. I invited her out and checked her over. Skinny but not emaciated, clean but very needy and super affectionate. No collar. We gave her some beef to munch on and kept an eye out.
Turns out she's living in that crawl space. I've no clue how long she's been there. Every time I go outside she appears at the mouth of her little cave and I give her some food. She then just sits on my lap or my shoulder and hangs out for a bit til I fight the urge to bring her in and extricate myself.
Have postered the area and took her to the vets today. No microchip. Cat's Protection won't get involved for 2 weeks and the vets have offered to spay her. Since I'd need to take her in to recoup I'm holding off until we get back from Chrimbo. Hope she's ok in our absence! We don't own a cat and never have. Don't think we can really afford to either. So now we just have to try really hard not to fall in love with her - which is impossible as she's an absolute frikkin heartbreaker!
