I've never run across Hudson's. My brother-in-law I had a long conversation about this a couple of months ago - he doesn't really rate a lot of the small batch bourbon stuff in the US. I have to agree with him. Most of the stuff I have found has not really been worth the premium after I've tried it.
Woodford Reserve, Single Barrel Jack Daniels, and Rip Van Winkle (the 12), Eagle Rare (10 but the 17 is great) are all really good options that are a step up from Jim Beam, Standard Jack Daniels and Maker's Mark.
But that's personal preference. Drink them all! Let your taste buds sort them out.
