  • I'd be surprised if he doped at Sky and, despite what the twitterati might have you believe, there is no evidence to back your claim.

    He'd just ridden the Tour of Beijing so I'd expect a defence based on food contamination, which may be reasonable given the well documented use of clenbuterol in Chinese farming.

    Mentioned in the Bertagnolli affidavit, ex-client of Ferrari's, multiple World Time Trial Champion, claimed he was in the best form ever while riding for Sky, ushered out of Sky after team members asked to sign a declaration they had never doped despite being their most experienced road captain.

    Conjecture of course but it is very likely he has doped in the past, doped his way to those ITT WCs, and unless you are on board with the marginal gains guff it's hard to see how he could be riding better while at Sky if he was clean. Doesn't matter a great deal, if he was I'm certain he was doing it independently of the Sky team and he's been popped while at Saxo anyway.
