  • Say I had new electricity meter installed on the 28th of Nov and now it reads 365 (was 0) where can I find out how much that is costing or whatever as I dont have an online account with them and cant be arsed holding for an hour.

    An old bill will tell you the price per unit or kWh.

    That's a previous bill from the company, not a policeman.

    Failing that, just go online and see what sort of tarrif your energy company offers. If you have held your account for more than a year without having it reviewed you are likely to be on a higher tarrif and should consider switching accounts.

    365kwh for a couple of weeks seems like high usage though. I would expect in the region of 180-200 for that period of time unless you're on electric heating.

    Also, make sure you aren't counting the number after the decimal point. I made that mistake and got a mega bill. Was fairly easy to sort out but I did shit myself for a bit.
