105 5700 is barely £100 cheaper than 6800, I'd go Ultegra all the way. Though if you were currently running 8/9/10-speed Shimano wheels you'd be looking at a wheel (or at least hub) upgrade to take 11sp.
Pretty sure you can get 105 for more like £350 if you hunt around and it's still a saving. The main thing is having 10 speed rather than 11, to avoid any hassle with wheels or ongoing chain and cassette premiums.
But yes, if I was investing in a complete new groupset I'd do the same. Although Ed's mix 'n match idea isn't bad. I can't imagine the f/r derailleur would make any difference.

v
^ worked when I tested it. I don't do the quidco thing but it was still showing as £458.99.
That's where the £100 come from.

I have decided to get rid of Ultegra 6700 groupset in glossy/dark grey; 170mm standard cranks 53/39 (unused) and 12-30 cassette. Doesent come with BB. The rest of the group is used for 340 miles and is pristine, no crashes or scratches.
Any interest for £320?

You're joking right?
What is the longest you've owned a bike without selling part of it? 3 days? A week?
Adding 1t or di2 to your bike isn't going to make you any better on it. Just ride the damn thing.

^ Well, if it has to be that contorted to slowly work your way to Campag then it has to be.
