Clamp on v brake adaptors are fine. I have mine for about 8 months now, no problem with them and there are quite a few other polo players who runs them too.
The adaptors are designed for 31.8mm (1 1/4") forks blades but you can easily shim them to fit 28.6mm (1 1/8") ones.
