Sounds interesting, I guess we are not allowed to see pictures until the show has aired?
Show sounds good in general too, I liked that how britain worked show that Guy did before.

I'm wokring on my own plans for spring, which is 60mph fixed, brakeless, without a car to break the wind, down a big hill in Bradford.
Not sure if anything like that has been done before.

Good one Jeez, I lol'd.
Reasoning is if I can spin 43mph on 53/20, I can spin 60 on 55/13... Got some testing to do first of course, will be doing a few runs on different gears to get a feel for the hill. No special bike here, but may use 50mm crabon for the aero.
Anyway, sorry for intruding on your thread Mr Rourke.

I tested this bike and easily got 60 mph down Axe Edge reckon I could have got around 75 80 but thought I would get a big run up and did the long flat section on a big gear first could hardly breath and feel my legs by the time I got to the downhill bit.

What gear was that on?
There's a great hill in Bradford, just been resurfaced, very smooth, gradual run in, long straight mid section, long run out.

I thought that was a typo until I realised what you meant. How many inches is that?

To be honest I can't remember.
Hope made us sprockets from 60 60 x 15 15 to 21 21
21 21 was out 60 mph speed gear
15 15 was our 100 - 120 mph speed around 420 inch i think it was -

I really can't wait to see this.

I've done close to that in Melbourne on a road bike (hell yeah I had brakes!), no car though.

Hi Guys,
Thought I'd give you heads up on this, we've built a bike for IOM TT rider Guy Martin to attempt British record of over 110mph.
It will feature in the first episode in a 6 part series starting on December 29th Channel 4 called Speed. How to make things go really fast.
Set your sky plus!
