  • My on one merino performed flawlessly in the water at lea valley canoe centre today.....it was cold in there too!

  • Pheeeew...... my wallet's glad I was late to the Helly party and most stuff had been snaffled. Managed to get away with only a Warm Ice-T and some socks for me, and a
Warm Ice Crew for the lady.
Curse you mega barginz! I cannot resist your overtones.

  • I received my devold baselayers today and they feel nicer than the rapha ones. I think the knit pattern
is better but they are made from too many panels.

  • devold...bah i'm just looking at these...they're in the basket for funzies...damn you

  • code still seems to be working, thanks again :)

  • Yeah seems to be working again. It says you can get 15% off from signing up to their newsletter. I've done that but I can't figure out how to get the money off. They haven't sent me an email yet.

  • the wool baselayer set (top & bottoms) is £25 from £100

    just ordered a few :D

Tempted but Fabric: 55% Polypropylene, 36% New Zealand Merino, 9% Nylon >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yoiu need to work out the best panel construstion, and knit pattern for your use. 'Multi sport' is pretty good for running. I've been riding in the mesh stuff. Which seems to offer the most warmth without sweat build up. Really wanted the pulse, which is seamless, and fitted. Not my size though. Breeze is a new lightweight range which looks good too.

My kids live in Devold leggings, and tops all through our winter. I just trust it.

  • If you want top quality merino bases. A certain spamming sale site has Devold clothing in just now. Peronally I rate this stuff above anything else I've tried. They have a load of different weights, blends, and stitching/knitting designs. So you can pick exactly what you need.

I really wanted a pulse T-shirt. Not my size though.

Thank you. Just bought this for the summer.

  • There's a Finisterre (and some other outdoorsy British brands I'm less familiar with) sample sale this week -

  • So I went to this ^ fairly small sale today.

Unsurprisingly, more menswear than women's. Loads of these

    and these (also in yellow)

If you're looking for quality woollen gifts and smart wind/waterproof jackets, it's definitely worth a visit, though none of it is cycle specific.

  • Did you have to RSVP to the invite to get in?

Not sure if you can access this but Helly Hanson is offering 50% discount using the NHSVIP50 code at the check out, is it worth looking at base layers with 50% off?

    ta

    pace

My stuff arrived today Warm freeze for 15 quid is a bargain.

rep'd. ordered last night and just checked: the code is still working.

went for windstopper boxer shorts and merino liner gloves. nice and not pricey.

  • Helly Hansen arrived. A small fit me well. Looks tiny when it's not being worn but it's stretchy, in a good way. Sizing is similar to my Rapha pro team base layer. Feels good too. Hopefully it'll perform well.

  • their website stripped out my company name on the address details so dhl came to my building and fucked off again :(

  • Smelly Hansen? Hope it's a merino one and not one of their synthetic ones, because they are total and utter pants.

  • I'm wearing mine now, it's comfy and toasty.

  • ^^ who do you think you are, this guy?

  • Ha! Want that card!

I used to use HH baselayers for skiing - but they developed perma-smell really easily and also became very cold when you sweat into them. Much prefer merino now.

  • Mine is both apparently.

  • mine parcels just arrived! must have still been in the area when they updated the address.

not the order with the wool sets though, this is 3/4 merino tights and a 1/4 zip baselayer

  • Mine is synthetic, but hopefully l don't smell as much as you, Dan.

  • :-p

    Have the same problem.

The only way I can extend the life of my HH baselayers is to shave my armpit hair and use those salt deodorant that kill the bacteria (since they're the one that produced the smell).

The bacteria cling onto your armpit hair, hence shaving it off.

  • The men at the naked wrestling club cling onto your armpit hair, hence shaving it off.

    Right on.
