  • Can anybody lend some tools this evening? I've got a bike running but not had the tools to sort out my chainset. At the moment I've got a fixed 17t fixed cog and a standard crankset and single chainring. I have all of the necessary components and I think I need the following to get it all fitted (bottom bracket can stay, it's just a case of putting on a freewheel, switching some cranks and then snipping the chain to size):

    • Chainwhip
    • Chain Link tool
    • Crank Pulls
    • Spanner for pedals
    • Allen Keys (I can bring)

    Anything else...!?

    Cheers!

  • Yeah Ben I can bring along though tool for you.

  • I bring along a lockring tool too.

  • I'll try and drop by to make up the numbers on my way home :)

  • Nice list going on there. There are brooms at the Libertine if the court needs a bit of sweeping.

  • Cheers everyone, should be able to get it all sorted.
Chain tool looks like the one least likely to turn up... If anyone has got one please please please bring it!

  • New v-brake for cafafox tomorrow!

  • Anyone know what time the football/netball finishes? #cold #mightgohome

  • Netballers finish at 7pm

  • Join them? :D

Not a chance! Netball is daaangerous. Sorry everyone - I didn't realise about the 7 start time and I couldn't handle the cold for an hour so I went home.

  • I thought the secret plan was to get them to join polo ;)

  • I'm out I'm afraid. Work has taken over my evening :(

  • What a shame the kids were absolute idiots last night :(

  • what happened? (aren't they supposed to be under the Uni netball people? ) or are you talking about the local kids?

( if it is about the local kids, the girl is actually pretty good at polo, invite her to play and then they all calm down) the other BeagleTrick, is to fix their bikes - usual things that they come up with is punctures and chain popping out. :-) fixing their bikes = you are no longer an enemy ) if it is the football kids with the youth worker is a totally different story - but speak to Beagle / Kev. i think they both had dealings with the organiser, they may be able to help....

  • Yeah will be speaking to them tonight. We lent them the brushes we had so that they could sweep up the other court on Monday night.

  • Thanks Io & Beagle. It was local kids and I have already mentioned it to Beagle.
Some of the people playing last night fixed one of their bikes a few weeks ago. Seems like the kids were bored after football so hung around to disrupt whoever was playing polo - nicking the cones, running on court, taking the ball, grabbing mallets, etc.
One of the boys talks in a really sexually aggressive way so conversation with them is rather tiresome.

  • Agreed,

A real shame that they hung around and caused so much grief.
Not really sure on the solution to this problem... I wonder if they were there tonight.

  • Cool your jets... Same kids that have been there for years, you just don't know them...

  • Aw, maybe the kids just want attention. Maybe they miss Beagle. Try saying hi to them and ask them how they are. Honestly tell them they can join a game if they want. 3 of them used to play with us. Also calling them by their name helps. And I think they are genuinely puzzled when you ask them how they are or how their day has been. They used to calm down quickly.
