  • Tough one... Macs and 3D software don't really go.. but you can always dual boot.
    It'll have to be a 13inch Retina, but max out the ram as you cant upgrade later, annoyingly...

    Defo dont let her buy a windows laptop, in 8 years I have only worked in one place which had windows and I felt it frustrating and hard to use, because I was not used to it, thats the boat she will be in but the other way round...

    I've used windows PCs for years for web development, and only ever used Macs for testing. In my new job they gave me a 13 inch retina MacBook Pro, and now the situation is reversed. It is so much better in terms of workflow, performance and usability. Apart from the dumb keyboard layout with no #
    The 15 inch Retina can be had with a decent graphics chip. Maybe that will handle 3D well?
