Manfrotto MKC3-P02 Compact Photo Kit - Grey: Amazon.co.uk: Camera & Photo

£29 in amazon lightning deals right now.

  • Shame it doesn't have a hook to hang your bag underneath.

  • ..diy ?

  • I dig that, nice composition.

be good to hear some feed back, Second shot had to be saved over exposed it a little in a rush to get the shot. (not that its an amazing shot anyway it was more of a detail shot to support others in a layout)

  • I think they're not bad, but if you want me to be honest they don't do anything for me.
It would help if they would 'pop' more, be sharper, be better "developed", contrast-wise.
In the BMX shot there's just an awful lot of (boring) very dark 'background" that does not help at all.
The light is not too bad.
Maybe just the (left) half of it would have impact as an upright format.
I'd also straighten it a bit, and flip it horizontally. I know the graffiti would give it away but if it was for Nike SB I'd say fuck it.

Also who the hell rides BMX in a jacket like that?

  • Apologies for the spam but I have a few camera bags and a 550d for sale in this thread.

  • Was working at Revolution Rd2 last night, stuck the XF1 in my pocket and got a few chances to use it...

thanks for the feedback Tina, the negative very dark background was in fact well thought out, as i said the brief stated that the purpose for the imagery was for it to be in a zine style booklet so the image was actually used for a double page spread and the dark area provided a nice platform for some white text.

other than that i don't do much post processing i try to keep that as minimal as possible, i've been playing around with levels lately and actually like the 'flat black' style. but yes i definitely need to work on my sharpening technique (or even start using one at all)

also i'd personally hate to flip that, its obviously an extremely well known spot and I feel that for the audience that it was aimed at, it would bug them that it was the opposite way around that they have seen in videos and images of the spot before hand.

also we had only just gotten there it was a rainy and cold day, so in his defence he did take it off after a couple of shots.

thanks for the feedback! much appreciated!

  • You're welcome.

Very nice shots mechanical vandal, really like all three of them.

  • Fuji x100 just landed on my desk. Holy shit its pretty.

  • Very jealous!

Anyone have any recommendations for a "good all round" tripod for around £100

  • I've been looking at the redsnapperUK tripods

  • Does anyone here do infrared stuff with a digital SLR ?

I've been looking at the redsnapperUK tripods

I have a redsnapper tripod, paid about 60 quid for it. My only other tripod experience had been with a plasticy £10 job that wasn't fit for anything, but the redsnapper is really good. Easy to use, good size both extended and closed away and is strong enough to use with a 5d and big zoom lens. It was even strong enough for someone to use as a step stool one time, still works.

  • I have a tripod (probably bought for around £30 originally) for free to anyone who wants it...

Can't remember the make but don't get too excited.

  • I'd heard the red snapper ones were good, does anyone know what they are like when compared to the manfrotto 190XDB

  • They like when you tell 'em that they are superior!

  • Nothing special picture wise but very happy with the first initial impressions of this camera... Honestly, the ISO performance is getting real close to full frame - I actually added grain to this one...

  • Yeah I reckon I'm gonna regret selling that at some point... Enjoy!

  • Good god, that viewfinder though. I'd rather shoot blind!
