  • Looks like this (mine has lopro geomerty too, but with 700c wheels). But those aero tubes?!

    http://www.fixedforum.it/forum/topic/15591-fmoser-leader-ax-evolution-tt-bici-completa-575-x-57/

  • Anybody can help me with this "ocelot" any info?

  • Seatpost ID needed, no marks whatsoever, nice old design and came with an original cinelli unicanitor saddle. 26.5/6 size what I can gather, I don't have a micrometer.

Somebody help me! I brought this 'Condor' frame on eBay for £70. I'm not really sure what brand it actually is or if it's actually Condor. I says it has Columbus Aelle Tubing.

Pref PM me if you may know any useful information!

    Thanks you!

    Thanks

could be early campag (look up the catalogues, there were design changes). the diameter will most likely be 26.6 as that was a common size before 27.2

  • Hi I'm considering buying this 753 raleigh panasonic http://www.adverts.ie/road-bikes/vintage-ti-raleigh-road-bike/4206862

I asked the seller for the number and he said it was SB2430 H495. This leads me to believe it has been resprayed as the serial number would but it around 1979 from a timeline someone came up with on a yahoo group on Ti-raleighs (can't figure out how to use yahoo groups properly). As far as I can tell hese frames were not produced until 1984. Also the raleigh logos appear to be sticker from the pictures (further indicating it's a respray). Also the lack of brake cable stops indicated that it is an earlier frame also. Was hoping someone could shed some light on this. Still considering buy as it is still an Ilkeston bike. What are the chances of it being 753?

    Thanks

  • hello all, i would like to ask help to identify this frameset, it should be from British builders, the story is telling that it could be Chas Roberts frame and painted in red. cause this frameset has many strange things, i will try to post it here

Lets start: serial number is the same on fork(steerer) and frame (bb shell). No 900737, according Roberts system it should be 1990 year, 07 month, and number 37 is the frame made that month.
Frame has Cinelli microfusione lugs, cinelli microfusione bottom bracket shell and SCA fork crown (drilled for brake originaly, not for fixie ride), fork crown is described as lightweight for only 150grams, and is internal into fork blades. both front and rear
dropouts are Campagnolo. tubing is unknown, but for seatpost sizing 27.2mm it should be Columbus. frameset weight is astonishing light, frame weight 1.76kg, and fork weight 0.64kg. frame tubing inside bb shell looks like not butted, so my guesing its Columbus Record or KL tubing. BB shell is british threaded
very interesting and unseen Seat tube lug/ cluster, looks like seatback style, but has brazings to join seatstays. sizing is 56x56cm, and final thing, it has braze on's for bottle cage ???. the filler on those braze on's looks the same as on lugs, so guess is that bottle cage braze on's were made buy this frame builder
maybe someone has ideas what it could be, or i should really think its Roberts and start to search for decals
frame details and full bike photos

  • Obvious I know, but have you contacted Roberts?

  • Not yet, i am writing message at the moment to Roberts cycles and hope they will have time to answer
one thing dont help me that i cant find in the internet the same seat cluster on any Roberts or other frame, doesnt metter it is track or road version

  • Hugi / HMS

I've just got a bike with Hugi compact hubs and tubular HMS carbon rims. I've found a reference to the rims being the first carbon rims to hit the market otherwise nothing.

Does anyone know anything about these rims / hubs?

Thinking of rebuilding them to fit on my Rossin along with some Magura HS77 hydraulic rim brakes from the same source.

  • ^ They're now part of DT Swiss
Hugi were considered pretty naughty back in the day - good quality kit in my memory.

  • Thanks Rik,
I found the DT Swiss link although everything on there looks a lot chunkier than mine Thet are tiny. I had never heard of them before. Think I will rebuild them into the HMS rims for my Rossin

  • miss-post

  • Hi There,

Could anybody tell me if they think this team"BANESTO" is a Pinarello replica or not?

    http://veloscorsa.wordpress.com/2010/03/05/banesto/

It's not marked as one but the tubing is Italian Oria 0.9 and the BB is 170mm + it's almost identical apart from the lack of Pinarello engravings... serial starts 00... with matching chrome fork .... any ideas please?

    Cheers,

  • i have a pinarello prologo banesto, mine have "dolmen" tubes. the rear brake bridge is totally diffrent, seatpost clamp on yours looks cheap. the total lack of Pinarello engraving on the lugs would push me to thinks its a fake.

  • I might say something stupid but it can be a Razesa frame.

  • Thanks for your ideas - well whatever it is I'm almost sure it's not fake because the photo you're looking at is not my photo but one I found on the net...

I have the same (exact) frame, decals and all so I know at least there are 2 in world which pretty much eliminates the idea it's "fake" fake..

    • a bit to "close" for a fake - time, materials, quality.. lot of effort for a fake...

The tubes are low end Oria special tt0.9... but it has Gipiemme dropouts and came with a nice 90's campy headset...

    the search continues...

once decal says "Ditour".. strange? same as in the photo back decal says "Sobol"

What's this "Razesa" business? a Pinarello offshoot?...

I brought it hoping it was Pinarello but assumed it was at the very least Italian and from the right time and size ; )

Serial is 00*** with forks that match that serial.. lugs seems really nice and clean..

Anyone experience with real BANESTO serials of the time? 5 digits starting 00

Big question is: Does anybody know if Pinarello ever built frames and deliberately left off their markings due to sponsorship/legal issues? ... and anywhere you can trace serial numbers by brand?

    Any help appreciated!

Thanks for the responses already up!

    Cheers,

    A

  • It's a probably a low end replica made under license. It won't be a pro-standard frame in that tubing, in all probability. Gipiemme dropouts confirm that it's not top end...
