As otter's said, the biggest difference is in the pull of the brakes, road is short pull and regular BB7 are long pull. If you run regular BB7s on drop brake levers, you would experience a spongy feeling or brake fade when you brake hard which is not the ideal setup. Road disc calipers also comes with a 140mm rotor option.

I will be riding 32mm tyres so i guess they would fit without anny problems? About the brakes i still need to buy them so is there a big difference between the road or mtb bb7 brakes? I was looking on the internet to find some photo's of the hope pro II hubs on a pompetamine frame but is seems they are hard to find :) .
